COVID-19 Booster Update- March 30, 2022
On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) endorsed the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) updated authorization for a second booster dose of COVID-19 vaccines for individuals who are at the highest risk for severe illness or death from COVID-19.
The following individuals are eligible to receive a second COVID-19 booster dose:
Booster doses are not authorized for children younger than 12 years. Children ages 5-11 who are moderately to severely immunocompromised are eligible to receive a third dose in their Pfizer primary vaccine series at least 28 days after the second dose to strengthen the original immune response.
